Excellent anti-aging serum suitable for all skin types. It has some great water binding agents, antioxidants vitaminC,vitaminE ,copper- peptide, retinol which also has a cell communicating factor. It has high concentration of silicone which gives skin a slip and silky feeling and acts as a water- resistant emollient.

Retinol is a beneficial cell-communicating ingredient and an antioxidant. It helps skin cells create better, healthier skin cells .Retinol has been shown to increase the skin’s collagen production and glycosaminoglycan content (skin's support structure present in extracellular matrix between skin cells),resulting in firmer skin with an improved texture and enhanced barrier function.
Ascorbic acid is also one of the well-researched and beneficial vitamins you can apply topically are vitaminC. It has been shown to increase collagen production, there by increasing skin firmness. suppressing pigmentation of the skin by decomposing melanin and inhibiting melanin production (brown pigment in the skin) thus reduce the appearance of skin discolorations, strengthen skin’s barrier response, enhance skin’s repair process, reduce inflammation, and help skin better with stand exposure to sunlight, whether protected by sunscreen or not but the concentration of ascorbic acid is very low in order to reduce hyper pigmentation concentration of ascorbic acid must be 5% or higher.
Copper gluconate also known as copper peptide, it increase super oxide dimutase (SOD) enzyme levels in humans which are a powerful antioxidant. Copper may also help collagen and elastin synthesis. There is research showing that copper is effective for wound healing and as an antioxidant .
It does have zinc gluconate (combination of zinc with a form of glucose (a sugar) . It has antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties and therefore may be effective against acne. zinc gluconate is effective in the treatment of inflammatory acne, whether or not this relates to topical applications is unknown.) and magnesium aspartate has antimicrobial properties and is skin protectant.

Common irritating ingriedients in skincare products to avoid

LIST OF IRRITATING
INGRIEDIENTS TO AVOID

Latest research shows that irritation and Inflammation accelarates skin's aging process .Irritation is a state of inflammation or painful reaction to allergy or cell-lining damage. It can be induce by every day environmental assaults such as unprotected sun exposure, heat e.g. (splashing the face with hot water) or by using skin-care products that contain irritating ingredients (chemicals).

Irritation and inflammation leads to impairment of skin’s immune system, which leads collagen destruction causing fine lines and wrinkling. It can also lead to a number of skin conditions, such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and acne.
Following is the list of ingredients used in skin care products that can cause skin irritation .These are of greatest concern when they appear in the beginning of an ingredient list.

Sodium lauryl sulfate and TEA-lauryl sulfate (present in cleansers)
Acetone
Algae Extract
Algin
Colloidal Sulfur
Laureth 4
Ocetyl Stearate
Alcohol
Peppermint

List of ingriedients to avoid for oily skin type

LIST OF COMEDOGENIC INGRIEDIENTS THAT CAN CLOG PORES.

"oil-free"claim  may mislead consumers into buying products that can actually clog pores. There is a list of ingredients that don't sound like oils but that can absolutely aggravate breakouts.
On the other hand, not all oils clog pores (e.g mineral oil).
Standard moisturizing ingredients that are great for dry skin can cause problems for someone with oily skin prone to breakouts.
Oil Free products may contain synthetic oil and it does not necessarily means that it won't clog your pores.
The thicker the product (like heavy lotions or creams), the more likely it is to cause breakouts. That means you can feel safer with a gel or serum (meaning these have a low or watery viscosity).

Comedogenicity refers to the chance that an ingredient or combination of ingredients will cause your pores to clog.
This results in blackheads (comedones)or whiteheads,(milia).
As with all ingredient lists, they are listed in order of concentration, the first listed ingredient is highest percentage-wise with the last listed ingredient having the least amount percentage-wise .

So if a product have potentially comedogenic ingredient toward the end, it is less likely to be the actual cause of your skin problems.

Comedogenicity is rated on a scale between 0-5. The lower the number, the less likely that the ingredient used by itself will clog your pore.

If you have oily ,blackhead or acne prone skin avoid the ingriedient listed below

How to cure dandruff

Dandruff and its cure

According to Dr.Neal shultz a cosmetic dermatologist dandruff is not caused  by a fungus.
Usually two factors are involved, either it is caused by a
hereditary predisposition (i.e.,it's inherited), stress, or a combination of the two.

Dandruff Cure:

Over-the-counter shampoos contain many different ingredients like zinc pyrithione and selenium sulfide, but the more effective ones are tar or salicylic acid. Look for a shampoo containing either of these two ingredients.
Neutrogena T/Gel or Neutrogena T/Sal are good options that can help you to get rid off dandruff.
If regular use of shampoos like the above on a daily basis are not effective, then the best way to cure it will be by obtaining prescription medication from a dermatologist that can be used topically on the scalp to aid in the relief of dandruff.

Home remedy:

mix flaxseed oil  and bitter almond oil in equal quantity and massage it  into your scalp leave it for at least an hour or two ,best is to leave overnight and wash it with a shampoo either containing tar or salicylic acid.

All about microdermabrassion

All about microdermabrassion

Microdermabrassion Quickly exfoliates the skin and is great for a quick rejuvenation.
Exfoliation is the process of removing these dead skin cells and debris and improving the superficial texture of the skin.
The Microdermabrasion is a safe, common, non-surgical procedure.
It remove a very superficial portion of the skin, usually just the stratum corneum top most layer This can be done through a number of different methods and techniques. Some microdermabrasion devices utilize abrasive paddles or crystals (silica or aluminum oxide particle) that are passed along the surface of the skin with a suction hand piece which removes the dead skin layer. Other methods use creams with abrasive particulates that are rubbed onto the skin.

Microdermabrasion is effective at improving and reducing fine lines, age spots or brown spots, and other superficial skin blemishes. The treatment can also be helpful with oily and enlarged pores, blackheads, and some acne scarring.
Microdermabrasion stimulates the production of collagen and cell turnover. Immediately following a microdermabrasion session the skin will feel smoother, tighter and have improved texture.
The typical session for microdermabrasion takes between 15 and 30 minutes.Number of sessions depends on the different skin problems that are to be treated .
Following any microdermabrasion treatment it is important to use sunscreen at least SPF 30 as the skin is usually very sensitive to sun exposure.
Moisturizing the skin is very helpful as the microdermabrasion session will dry the skin temporarily.

People who should avoid it:
People with active herpes lesions, active acne or rosacea, open sores or lesions, dermatitis, psoriasis, people using Acutance within the last 6 months, eczema and lupus  should not have microdermabrasion.Always consult a dermatologist before having microdermabrassion.

About At-Home Kits

Microdermabrasion home kits usually contain two basic components: an abrasive cream or scrub, and a buffing or massage tool for application. The cream in these kits contains the same aluminum oxide crystals that are used in professional microdermabrasion techniques, although the concentration, application, and cream ingredients may vary.
Home kits should always be spot-tested on a small area of skin first, as some products can cause excessive redness, damage, irritation, or allergic reaction. No course of treatment will be as effective as one designed specifically for you by an expert skin care professional

Sun protection

Understanding the measurements of UVA protection in sunscreens and the PA ranking system.

What does the "PA" ranking on a sunscreen label mean?

All sunscreen labels list a sun protection factor (SPF). SPF is a measurement of how much protection the sunscreen offers from the UVB rays that cause sunburn. Now there is a new rating The Japanese PA system ranges from PA+ to PA+++, with the + sign indicating increased UVA protection. Looks for asunscreen labels that also list a "PA" ranking, which refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from the UVA rays that may cause long-term skin damage. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++ or PA+++.
The more +'s, the more protection from UVA rays. For maximum protection from both UVA and UVB rays, choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that contains avobenzone, oxybenzone, mexoryl, zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. Apply sunscreen liberally at least20 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every two hours.
